The Pharmacists World Day is celebrated on 25 September, honouring professionals in an industry that is vital to the modern world as we know it. Don’t believe us? Read more in the article below!

The truth is that the human race has always needed to treat wounds and illnesses and has looked for ways to maintain a good state of health. Initially, we only made use of what we found in nature, but we soon began to develop and produce medicines from the manipulation of plants and minerals. Fast forward to today, pharmaceutical production is one of the leading exponents of science and pharmacists represent more than 4 million people worldwide, according to the International Pharmaceutical Federation.

These professionals are often the most accessible health professionals to the population and, by integrating a variety of health skills, they serve a vital purpose for communities. But pharmacists are also involved in the entire life cycle of medicines, from researching new molecules to selling them to the public, with a wide range of functions in between. These include developing formulations or carrying out the necessary registrations with the competent authorities, but also the production and quality control of these products. It is also common to find these professionals evaluating diseases and developing new therapies, using clinical analyses or evaluating biological markers.

On a day-to-day basis, contact with pharmacists is common and, at RC REDOL, even more frequent, due to the very nature of our business. That’s why we couldn’t fail to mark World Pharmacist Day, by celebrating the essential role that these professionals play in the lives of each and every one of us.

RC REDOL, building connections!
